Roy alleged, the agitators raised slogans threatening to kill him. Roy is also demanding that security be provided to Babul Roy’s home, as the miscreants attacked the house too.

“I have informed the police and also talked to the DGP, but the police came here doing nothing to disperse the gathering. They are just mute spectators,” Roy said.

“My life is in danger,” he said, alleging the agitators have been threatening to murder him.

The Congress party was holding a meeting regarding leaflet distribution, and on Monday, a meeting was held at Ward No. 31 at Babul Roy’s home. During the meeting, a group of protesters reached the home and allegedly locked the meeting attendees, including MLA Gopal Roy.

“People do not allow their homes for such meetings for fear of being attacked, but Babul Roy supported and invited us for the meeting in his home,” said Roy.

“This country has no law and order. Tripura has no law and order,” added Roy.

“I want to ask the CM, where is the law and order, and where is the rule of law? What nonsense is going on in this state?” asked the Congress MLA.

Roy demanded the arrest of each miscreant who gathered there and threatened the meeting participants.
