Agartala, July 4 (TIWN): Bikash Debbarma, one of the accused in a rape attempt case involving a minor girl, allegedly attacked a local journalist, Rajib Sarkar. The incident happened when the journalist was trying to gather information about the case and take a video of the accused.

According to reports, Bikash Debbarma and another accused, Samen Debbarma, were arrested by the police for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl at her home in Birendra Para village. When journalist Rajib Sarkar went to the police station to cover the story, Bikash Debbarma suddenly attacked him, snatched his mobile phone, and smashed it.

The journalist community has strongly condemned the attack, and the Journalists' Association of Tripura Committee has demanded strict punishment for the accused. The incident has raised concerns about law and order in the area and the safety of journalists.
