Agartala, February 9 (TIWN): The 2015-16 Annual budget will be presented by Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha in the assembly on Tuesday. It is hoped that this year, State Government will assure the state of continuing with developmental activities despite all financial constraint so cut down developmental activities to tackle financial crunch which will create a haze in the House.
Besides the tabling and approval of the Budget for 2015-16 FY, a Bill seeking establishing of a state-run University would be tabled in the House for consideration. The Budget session which will come into end on March 3, will have ten working days.
If the Bill gets House nod, the state government plans to begin the University from the coming academic session. The name of the proposed Varsity is Maharaja Bir Bikram University.
Currently, the state has two Varsities- Tripura Central University and ICFAI University (private). According to political analysts, ten-day Budget session would be stormy with the opposition Congress legislators contemplating to pile heat on the government over the corruption issue. The multi-crore scam in Bishalgarh RD block, RMSA scam and financial irregularity in CMO office in Unakoti district are likely to dominate the House
