SONAMURA, May 6 (TIWN): Amid tall claims about farmers’ livelihood improvement by Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath in Rabindra Bhawan farmers’ meet program on Tuesday, Sonamura farmers blocked road in Rangamatia area protesting the water crisis in their locality.
According to the farmers in Sonamura, they have been facing a severe water crisis for a month.
Even after multiple times, they appealed for the restoration of water accessibility, but nothing helped, forcing them to sit in protest.
The farmers were seen arguing with the government officials, saying, Why were they assured to get water supplies by ten days when it's now a month.
Later, after being fully assured that their problems would be solved, the farmers withdrew the protest.
