KHUMULWNG, March 14 (TIWN): BJP-IPFT’s rift continues to cause disturbances in the alliance. On Thursday, a BJP Mandal office at Dukmali market under Radhapur PS area was attacked allegedly by Tipra Motha party workers when the second group was wheeling in a bike rally. BJP Mandai Mandal President Abhijit Debbarma alleged Tipra Motha workers rushed to the party office, damaging the office badly. The Tipra Motha party workers also vandalized some local shops near the party office, alleged BJP.
“They attacked the BJP office but what is the fault of the nearby tea stall owner? His whole livelihood was dependent on this shop and they snatched this today,” shrieked Debbarma.
BJP lodged an FIR against the incident at Radhapur Police Station, seeking proper investigation and strict action against the culprits. The party leader appealed to the Tipra Motha leadership to control its party workers and unite them regardless of their political, caste, or community identities.
The violent incident caused tension in the locality which left visible signs of damage on the BJP Mandal office’s walls.
BJP Prabhari Dr. Rajdeep Roy inaugurated the party office three days back, followed by a joining program where 32 families joined the BJP leaving Congress and CPI-M. A total of 108 voters joined the BJP during the new Mandal office inauguration.
“Tiprasa development is the key. All have to be united regardless of caste, or color in Khumulwng. Our Govt is working with the vision of Prime Minister Modi’s Sabka Satha Sabka Vikas policy. Everyone should come forward and participate in the developmental work,” said the Mandai Mandal President.
