AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): CM Dr. Manik Saha has invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Tripura to inaugurate Matabari Tripura Sundari temple’s newly constructed various decors.
However, the Matabari project, which the BJP Govt claims “redeveloped”, remained a controversy after the holy “kurma” pith was cut and shortened in size, cutting many old trees, and natural surroundings and shifting old worshipping areas. The issue was also raised by the opposition Congress party many times accusing the BJP Govt of disturbing Tripura’s 500-year-old religious place.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday in Delhi and discussed various developmental works.
“On behalf of the people of Tripura, I invited him to inaugurate the redeveloped Mata Tripureswari Temple premises at Matabari, Tripura,” CM posted on his social media page.
The Chief Minister said, he also discussed the National Highway from Kamalpur to Santirbazar via Ambassa, Ganda Twisa, Amarpur. Apprised him of the need to set up premier institutes like AIIMS, IIT & IIM in the state.
