AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): Firecrackers and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ slogans marked Delhi victory's parallel celebration in Tripura on Saturday after BJP defeated the ruling Aam Admi Party in Delhi and all set to throne to power.

AAP chief and Delhi former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has conceded defeat, congratulating the BJP said, "We accept the mandate of the people with great humility. I congratulate the BJP for this victory and I hope they will fulfil all the promises for which people have voted them."

"I was never so happy since I came to politics like today. Delhi is our nation's capital and today it's free from 'Aapada'. Just add a 'da' with the previously ruling AAP and it becomes 'Aapada' (means unwanted, unlucky elements)," said a party member who participated in the celebration in Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha's constituency Bordowali, Agartala.

"It's a  victory of the people across India," he said.

"We are now hopeful that under PM Modi's leadership, people of Delhi will get those benefits from which they were left deprived so long," said Tanuj Dasgupta, 8-Town Bordowali, Juba Morcha spokesperson.
