“The government is expanding roads which is great. What the previous government started, this incumbent government is doing now. But to do this, why these poor people are targeted with a 15 days notice? Making them suddenly homeless is not only subjected to inhumanity but a violation of the Supreme Court’s order. Only 1 week back, the Supreme Court ruled that bulldozing justice can not be justified in a democracy !” Chowdhury said.

“Amid cold weather has started in the state, these people are forced to live under the open sky. They have only two demands : one is to give them homes in government land in Ramnagar area and to help them in restoring livelihood. I would say, there are hardly as obedient citizens as them. The Mayor of Agartala, who is also the MLA of the area, must listen to the people. Only roaming with expensive cars does not qualify him for these roles but he must listen to the people,” said Jitendra Chowdhury targeting Mayor cum Ramnagar MLA Dipak Majumder.
