TELIAMURA, Nov 16 (TIWN): In connection to an open firing incident, a jhumia farmer was caught by police on Saturday. In that shocking incident, total three women were injured and one of them is critical, undergoing treatment at GB hospital. The accused Sandhiram Debbarma, S/O-Khirod Debbarma, a resident of Twibaglai area in Teliamura, Mungiakami opened fire with his illegally stored locally made gun. On 14th November, evening, Sapna Debbarma was injured in firing incident. Two women who were accompanying her were also critically injured in this incident.
After primary treatment, Swapna Debbarma was rushed from Mungiakami Primary Health Center to Agartala GB Hospital for better treatment.
Police started an investigation into the incident and arrested Sandhiram Debbarma on Saturday.
During investigation, Sandhiram Debbarma confessed to the crime, revealing a disturbing motive.
Sandhiram Debbarma claimed to police, that thieves had been stealing his crops for months and so on Thursday he was on vigilance to check if any thieves came and during that time these three women were seen and then he shot them.
Police paraded Sandhiram Debbarma on the crime scene taking his minute-to-minute briefing on how he committed the crime. Police seized the local gun from the crime spot that used in the shooting from Sandhiram Debbarma.
