AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): Cops caught Wife-Shooter in record time. A brazen husband-turned-gunman was busted by quick-acting cops Tuesday after blasting his wife in a shocking domestic dispute. Balbir Singh shot his wife Tuesday in Kalamchara area and escaped from the spot. Police stations were alerted about the incident and Amtali PS Police successfully caught Balbir Singh with pistol and bullets. Balbir Singh’s wife Kabita Reang was critically injured due to the gun-attack and hospitalized. She is now admitted to Hapania TMC Hospital.
“SDPO informed us about the incident that the culprit is going missing since he injured his wife with gun-shot. We started searching and within an hour we were able to arrest Balbir Singh. From his bike, pistol, and bullets were seized,” a cop said at the Amtali police station.
"We were alerted about the incident and swiftly launched a search operation. Our swift action ensured the culprit didn't get far,” he added.
Kabita Reang is currently hospitalized at Hapania TMC Hospital, and undergoing treatment for her injuries.
She was shot in her hand and leg, said police.
