AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Haryana Election results which jolted the expectations of the opposition Congress amid massive EVM manipulation allegations, crowned BJP to the power. Independent MLAs Devender Kadyan and Rajesh Joon have extended support to the BJP in Haryana. The seat tally of the party, which earlier stood at 48, has now increased to 50. With this recent development, the seat tally of the BJP, which earlier stood at 48, has now increased to 50. Kadyan, a BJP rebel, had contested and won from Ganaur as an Independent. Joon, who defeated his BJP rival in Bahadurgarh, also joined the party today.
Extending support to the BJP, Independent MLA from Bahadurgarh Rajesh Joon said that he made this decision as he likes the policies made by BJP and wants to work with the party to develop his constituency.
"I am extending support to BJP. I like BJP's policies and for the development of my constituency, I have decided to support them..."
The BJP had clinched an unexpected victory in the Haryana Assembly elections on Tuesday, leaving the Congress in shock. The party pulled a hat-trick as it comfortably crossed the halfwa mark with 48 seats. Congress, on the other hand, has rejected BJP's win and alleged irregularities in the EVMs and the vote counting process.
Earlier today, Hayana CM Nayab Singh Saini also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupdai Murmu in New Delhi.
"We are analysing the unexpected results of Haryana. We will inform the Election Commission about the complaints coming from many assembly constituencies," said Rahul Gandhi after the defeat in Haryana.
