AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): Tripura Opposition Congress MLA Sudip Barman on Sunday accused the BJP statement of being involved in extreme violation of the government’s 28 Ekar land allotment for a private hospital. Barman accused Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha of handpicking the Shija private company and planning to allot ARD department land in Bodhjungnanagr illegally. Barman mentioned, that recently a kidney-related treatment was done at the AGMC (GB hospital), and some private doctors were appointed for the role but the aim behind it was to showcase them before plotting a private land’s handover to a hand-picked private company.

Barman said, no government land can be allotted like this and the government can give land with 30 years lease but again a tender has to be called for that.

Barman said, the decision does not only violate the land-allocation rule but it also downplays the cabinet rules.

“I want to ask the cabinet ministers today if they feel any shame or insult that such a decision was taken without cabinet meeting,” said Barman.

Sudip Barman accused CM Dr. Manik Saha of this violation, and said, “Nobody is above the law and not even the chief minister.”

Barman said, if needed, he would file PIL in the court in this matter.

The Congress MLA recently exposed another corruption under the Tribal Welfare Department which the Department’s Minister Bikash Debbarma directly committed by using government funds for his personal use.
