AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Tripura Jute Mill Employees organized a ‘Mahakaran Abhijan’ seeking their pending arrears.
As per the High Court and Supreme Court’s order employees who were on service on 1/1/1996 should be paid off their pending arrears.
The agitators said only a few hundred people were given the areas whereas the total number of the employees are 1647.
“Government is only paying to the people who filed case for the unpaid amount. This discrimination violates the Supreme Court’s guideline. So we are protesting to place a memorandum to the Finance Secretary demanding our pending arrears,” said the retired employees who were protesting near the Secretariat.
