BJP Intensifies Efforts for Remaining Seats in Upcoming Panchayat Election After Sweeping 71% of Contests Unopposed

AGARTALA, July 29 (TIWN) - Tripura BJP on Thursday has thanked state leadership led by Dr. Manik Saha after the party won 71% seats uncontested. BJP said, oppositions are unable to get candidates and the massive winning without poll, shows people are with BJP.The Tripura BJP has expressed gratitude to its state leadership, led by Dr. Manik Saha, after securing 71% of seats uncontested. Despite allegations of mass rigging and the murder of a CPI-M candidate, the party has continued its massive house-to-house campaigning across the state.

BJP leaders claim that the opposition's inability to field candidates and the party's overwhelming victories without polls indicate strong public support. According to Election Department Secretary Ashit Kumar Das, the BJP won 4,550 seats uncontested out of 6,370 at the Gram Panchayat level, with the party-wise breakdown as follows:

- BJP: 1,818 seats

- CPI-M: 1,222 seats

- INC: 731 seats

- Motha: 838 seats

- CPIM(L): 5 seats

- Independent: 127 seats
