AGARTALA, February 3 (TIWN): Indo-Bangladesh DM DC level meeting on Tuesday started at State Guest House. However, no final outcome has yet been decided. The delegation had informed that the final decision on multiple issues will be taken tomorrow. Talking to TIWN, District Magistrate of West Tripura Abhishek Singh informed that today the meeting started at 9.30 a.m in the morning. On behalf of Indian side, meeting is headed by Abhishek Singh. Among others, District Magistrate of Sepahijala, Dr. Prashant Kr. Goyel, District Magistrate of Unakoti, Mrinal Kanti Nath, District Magistrate of South, Dr. Debasish Basu, District Magistrate of Khowai, Ngurchawikunga Darlong, and District Magistrate of Dhalai, Dr. Milind Ramteke., Sub-divisional magistrates of the respective districts, Officials of BSF, SPs, SP west Bijoy Nag were present at the meeting. However, Secretary of Revenue Department, Punit Agarwal and Secretary (General Administration), B.K.Sahu has also attended the meeting as special guests.
It is to be mentioned here that ahead of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) poll slated to be held this year, extremists’ activities surfacing again in Tripura, reminding the militant violence and deadly ethnic conflicts and destruction of peaceful coexistence between tribal and nontribal people with abduction of villagers and construction workers engaged in border fencing work in demand of subscriptions.
On behalf of the Bangladesh delegation, Police Super, officials of BGB, Deputy Secretary of Home Ministry, Cabinet Division member, member of Foreign Ministry, Joint Commissioner of Custom and Excise, Comilla, Deputy Director of Drug Control Department, Deputy Commissioner of BrahmanBariya Dr. Mohammed Musauf Hussein, Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati Hill, Mohammed Samsul Arfin and Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj, Mohammed Jonailahuddin,headed by Deputy Commissioner of Moulavi Bazar, Mohammed Kamrul Hasan has attended the meeting.
After half and hour of the meeting, separate meeting of the DM and DC’s held at State guest house. Though, it was earlier decided to organize briefing. But still now, nothing like that happened. The meeting centers round militancy, insurgency, import-export, trade and construction of border pillar.
Earlier, 25 members Bangladesh DC delegation led by the Deputy Commissioner of Moulavi Bazar, Mohammed Kamrul Hasan arrived in Tripura yesterday, to attend the meeting on border talks at State Guest House.
