AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Amid 2021's massive social media campaigning against IAS, former West Tripura DM Sailesh Yadav and three writ petitions filed against the officer including demanding compensation after stopping marriage festival that were violating the timeline, the IAS has won in three of the cases which were filed against him after he took stern action against Covid-protocol violators in Agartala marriage houses. The social media campaigning was based on sentiments using religious fervour where Yadav won with the practical approach linked to the seriousness of the pandemic period. The marriage ceremony permissions which were granted by the DM office and distributed among the parties in 2021, April, clearly stated that by 10 pm the ceremonies needed to be ended and the gathering would be limited. The marriage houses not only violated the guidelines but refused to obey the norms even after the DM reached the spots in person.

After some stern actions were taken and a few were detained by police, later social media was flooded by campaigning against the officer including Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam himself campaigned against him. Today, High Court dismissed all the allegations based on various pieces of evidence placed before the court.

Advocate Samrat Kar Bhowmik said, the footages show the marriage party members were arguing with the administration desperately, instead of cooperating.

One video clip revealed a relative saying, the marriage was already completed at 6 pm proving all the propaganda raised against the then DM was motivated.

The raid was held on April 28 night after media informed how Covid protocols were violated in Agartala's two marriage houses amid Covid second wave death rows and the rise of the virus infections. Alleging, that the DM violated religious rituals, protests were staged.

High Cour dismissed all the allegations brought against Sailesh Yadav, and gave him a clean chit.

Advocate Samrat Kar Bhowmik talked to the media after the judgement. Click here for more details.
