AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): Opposition Congress on Thursday alleged, at least in 4 places opposition banners were replaced with Bharatiya Janata Party banners, violating the election guidelines. Congress leader Szarita Laitphlang said, when the party raised complained to the CEO and the CEO asked Congress to show “proof”, where Congress further advised the CEO to check the CCTV footage. “Local vendors have told us that the works were done by Yuva Morcha workers of the BJP party. In some places, the structure of the banner was removed. I just want to ask the Election Commission, does the opposition have any right to campaign in this poll?” asked Szarita Laitphlang.
The Congress leader shared footage where I.N.D.I.A. candidate for the West Tripura constituency Asish Saha’s hoarding was displayed and then the same hoarding has gone missing and BJP’s hoarding has been displayed.
“Constitutional gives right to all parties to campaign. Today, under this BJP Govt all institutions including Income Tax, Enforcement Department have turned puppet to the BJP Govt but this country still has some people who would not surrender. Congress would face all the tyrannies with full force,” said Laitphlang.
