KAILASHAHAR, March 25 (TIWN): Police of Kailashahar Women PS rescued the missing minor girl from a city in Gujarat. A youth from Kanchanpur was arrested on charges related to the kidnapping of the minor girl. The accused was arrested from the area of Korotakola police station near Ahmedabad in Gujarat. On December 18, 2023, a young man abducted a minor girl from Kailasahar Women Police Station area in the dark of the night. On the night of the incident, the family of the minor lodged a complaint to the Women's Police Station in Kailasahar. The case number was WKLS PS /70/23.

After three months, the police finally succeeded in the abduction case. OC Ripita Bhattacharya and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jayant Karmakar met in a press conference to brief about the entire incident.

Jayant Karmakar said that on December 18, they received a complaint of abduction and accordingly started searching for the youth involved in the case of minor abduction by using advanced technology through mobile tracking. Later they came to know that the youth named Amit Chandra Das was staying in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Amit Chandra Das, S/O-Rakesh Chandra Das, is a resident of Kanchanpur in North Tripura district. After complying with all the office documents, he was arrested from there yesterday and brought via air to Agartala and later brought to Kailasahar police station.

At present, the minor girl has been handed over to her family after a health check-up and the accused boy is said to have undergone a health check-up.

Police have registered a case under Section 366 of the IPC against the youth accused in the kidnapping case.
