AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): BJP has declared AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder as Ramnagar by-poll candidate. Ramnagar by-poll was necessitated to be declared since the existing MLA Surajit Datta passed away. After a long wait, finally BJP declared the candidate’s name for the constituency. After being declared as the Ramnagar constituency MLA Dipak Majumder said, “I will work for the people of the locality under CM Dr. Manik Saha’s governance, if I am voted to power. The former MLA had a lot of plans for the constituency which he discussed often with me. Also, out of the plan, new projects will be launched for the development of the area. I will take every step for the development only after talking to the people there.”
Reacted to I.N.D.I.A. alliance candidate Ratan Das, Mayor said, “I have no issue against him. In a democracy, opposition will give candidates which is natural. It is people who will decide whom they will give chance to work for them.”
“I appeal to the people to give me a chance to work for them. I have worked in Agartala Municipal Corporation and based on that work, people can vote me. I am thankful to the party for giving me chance to work for AMC and now for the Ramnagar constituency,” said Dipak Majumder.
