AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has requested the Election Commission of India for a Free and Fair election in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Addressing media, Congress State President Asish Saha said, “In democracy, everyone has right to participate in poll activities. We appeal to the Election Commission to make sure that a peaceful environment prevails so that flags, festoons and banners can be used across the state. We appeal to the people to help us financially because we are facing financial crisis. We need the help of people.” “It’s a shame that as soon as the Election was declared Aam Admi Party led Delhi Govt’s chief minister was arrested. This is not an isolated incident. In Jharkhand also similar things happened after BJP failed to break the Govt politically. BJP Govt is using the central agencies for such activities,” said Asish Saha.
“Everything is clear as broad daylight. BJP Govt’s intention of winning without any principal is open and wide. In Tripura also, previous elections were not fear-free for the common men. We condemn the attitude of the BJP Govt towards opposition. At the same time, we appeal to the common men to strengthen the I.N.D.I.A. alliance for the betterment of the people,” said Asish Saha.
