AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): As the Lok Sabha poll dates were declared, election officials across Tripura have also geared up to bring the voters in confidence.

Across the Agartala city, announcements are going on to take help from the administration if they face any difficulty, threat during the election. It has been said during the announcement, “An attempt of distributing gifts, bribes ahead of poll to influence the voters is a punishable offense. If this crime is committed, 1 year jail, fine both can happen.”

“As per 171C, threatening the candidates or causing injury is also a serious crime. Jail and fine both are applicable. We appeal to the people, not to accept bribe because it’s a both-way punishable offense.
