AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): The Election Commission has declared the Lok Sabha poll dates in 7 phases. As soon as the poll dates were declared, police administrations across Tripura have been geared up to ensure security, bringing the voters into confidence. Across the Agartala city, announcements are going on to take help from the administration if they face any difficulty, threat during the election. It has been said during the announcement, “An attempt of distributing gifts, bribes ahead of poll to influence the voters is a punishable offense. If this crime is committed, 1 year jail, fine both can happen.”

“As per 171C, threatening the candidates or causing injury is also a serious crime. Jail and fine both are applicable. We appeal to the people, not to accept bribe because it’s a both way punishable offense. If anyone knows about such activities, including threats or attacks, must contact 7628906058 which will be operating 24X7,” stated the announcement.
