AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): Former Minister Ram Prasad Pal expressed resentment over Doctors for prescribing too many tests for patients.

“I understand if the Doctors do not prescribe tests, how would the pathology sector run but nowadays, people are afraid to go to the Doctor due to test requirements”, said Ram Prasad Pal in a pathology department program.

“Nowadays, however, laws are also very strict against Doctors, and so many new diseases have emerged. In this situation, it’s important that tests should be done but I think, Doctors should take some steps to overcome the situation because sometimes, patients financial conditions do not permit them to go for so many tests”, said Pal.

Pal also was in anguish while mentioning why the Doctors would recommend specific pathologists’ names after asking for tests, adding, “It has become a system”.
