AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): In a remarkable judgment a convicted criminal in a minor boy’s sexual assault case, has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in Teliamura.
Briefing about the incident and the verdict, the lawyer said, “A case was registered under Teliamura PS Case No-66/2023, under POCSO act. Based on the evidence, Session Judge Sankari Das has rewarded Dhiman Roy 20 years imprisonment under POCSO act-6 and under section 506 IPC more 2 years imprisonment was added along with 25,000 rupees fine”.
Dhiman Roy was sexually harassing a little boy who was taking private tuition for art from him. The assault continued for 10 months. At a time, the child became heavily sick and that time he told everything to his parents. FIR was lodged against Dhiman Roy and the minor victim boy underwent medical treatment”.
The judgment today against the culprit teacher has marked justice to the victim and his family.
