AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Tripura was shaken with a jolt of earthquake today morning at 9 am, with no casualties reported.
The source of the earthquake was Comilla, Bangladesh.
Tripura Disaster Management’s official said the tremor was felt in several parts of the northeastern region including Tripura, Mizoram, parts of Assam and Bangladesh.
“I was cleaning my car, and did not really feel anything but heard that women are performing ‘jukers’ (a religious performance to stop evils), said Hari Bhushan Das (62), a resident of Kamar Pukur area, Agartala.
“I was scared. My dog was running across the home for a long time before the earthquake happened”, said Riya, a college student.
Tripura has been considered one of the earthquake danger zones in India.
