Agartala, Jan 27(TIWN): On the occasion of 66th Republic Day, Tripura government organized a dinner party for tribal leaders here at Maharani Tulsibati School on Monday. But the dinner party was attended only by CPI(M) leaders including chief minister Manik Sarkar and high level tribal officers.
The party organized by public money gave rise to number of question in minds of people. What was the reason behind to arrange such dinner party for tribal leaders when TTAADC election is schedule to be held on April? Did a single tribal leader of opposition parties attend the dinner party?
One member of the organizing committee on requesting anonymity said not a single opposition tribal leader was invited to remain present in the party.
It is crystal clear from the organizing committee member confession that the party was only organized as to woo the tribal officers and leaders ahead of the TTAADC election.
Ruling CPI (M) is taking the tribal body election very seriously this time. In a well planned manner they are utilizing all the government programs and machineries for the upcoming TTAADC election. Chief minister Manik Sarkar himself and his council of ministers are doing their level best for maximum utilization of the programs – whether it is Republic Day, All Tripura Tribal Dance Competition, Tribal Health programme and statehood celebration.
According to political analysts this TTAADC election would be a litmus test for the ruling CPIM. Tribal areas once the strong fortress of CPI(M) is slowly disintegrating. The euphoria of CPI(M) among the tribal youths no longer exist. They are now realizing nothing have been done for the development of TTAADC. The think tank of ruling CPI(M ) could easily read the writing on the walls, that their days are nearing, they are on last ditch effort to save the fortress created by late Nirpen Chakraborty and Dasarath Deb.
