Tripura CM talks tough on NDA policy:Criticises Modi govt. for opening gateway for foreign investments;stresses maintaining communal harmony

AGARTALA, January 26 (TIWN): Making an appeal to the people of the state to build Tripura a wealthy state and to protect, uphold the spirit of communal harmony and secularism, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today said that Tripura is developing fast in many areas whereas a section of people are trying to divide the state stirring up the communal tension between the tribals and the non tribals here in the state. CM Manik Sarkar today unfurled the national flag at the Assam rifles ground to mark the 66th Republic Day. Chief Minister coming down heavily on the policy of the separate state said that the Tripura Govt. will not tolerate any attempt to divide the North Eastern States. "A section of people are trying to split the state and to disturb the peace. Chief Minister spoke tough on Narendra Modi led BJP Govt, however, Chief Minister's blasting of popular central govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen as regular communist badmouthing as scam tainted Manik Sarkar Govt's credibility and public perception hit the rock bottom since a year.

Republic Day was celebrated across Tripura with numerous functions and programmes, including sports events.

"The left front govt. would resist the move with its all out efforts," Sarkar said. Later laying a stress on the communal harmony, Sarkar appealed to the people of the state to maintain the spirit of communal harmony. “Tripura is developing fast in progress, but a section of people has been trying to demolish the state by stirring up the communal tension between the tribals and the non tribals”, said Sarkar.

Laying a stress on the existence of the insurgency here in the bordering areas CM Manik Sarkar today said that the security forces comprising of the BSF Jawans and the Tripura police is playing a major role to resist any untoward incidents at the bordering areas and to destroy the existed insurgent camps. "Despite the security forces best efforts and people' resistance, terrorism is yet to be curbed entirely. The militants still have camps in neighbouring Bangladesh”, said Sarkar.

CM Manik Sarkar later talking tough on the BJP led NDA govt. at the center said that the govt. at the center has opened the gateway of the foreign investment here at the Nation at large. He also criticised the NDA government for not being able to control the rise of prices of essential commodities and problems of unemployment."They made their poll pledge of solving the unemployment problem and control the price hike, but they failed to do anything, as a result of which common people are suffering," he added. 

Sideline of  another issue Sarkar laid a stress on the fund curtailment of the MGNREGA scheme here in the state. “The poor people of the state has been severely deprived by the center and has snatched the employment of the rural Tripura”, Sarkar said. Adding to that CM Manik Sarkar said that the agricultural land has been taken at large, resulting the farmers of the country to divert towards the city and towns in search of jobs. “With all the promise of the BJP led NDA govt. at the center has now turned bleak”, Sarkar said. He said with an experience of the seven and half months at the nation the price hike of the daily commodities has stand tall.

CM Manik Sarkar today took guard of honour by the state and central paramilitary forces, state police and NCC and inspected the ceremonial parade to mark the 66th Republic Day celebration across the state. Sarkar hoisted the national flag at the main Republic Day function at the Assam Rifles ground here as there is no permanent governor in Tripura. Nagaland governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya is holding additional charge of Tripura along with Assam.
