AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): A citizen of Bangladesh who came to India from Bangladesh illegally has been detained in Kailashahar.
The incident occurred in Latiapura area under Irani police station in Kailashahar. The detained Bangladeshi national was sent to the Kailasahar court on Wednesday.
Latiapura village is located in the Irani police station area of Kailashahar bordering the international border between India and Bangladesh.
Based on a tip-off, police led by Irani police station OC Jatindra Das and a large contingent of police and TSR forces arrested a suspicious youth from Latiapura village and brought him to Irani police station. Later, the youth who was caught by the police of Irani police station confessed that he was a citizen of Bangladesh and that he had entered India a month ago without valid documents.
Jatindra Das, OC of Irani police station, said that the name of the arrested Bangladeshi citizen is Nakul Debnath, S/O-Banamali Debnath.
The arrested Bangladeshi citizen is a resident of Majlishpur village in Sunamganj district of Bangladesh.
