AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): In Kumarghat Ratha Jatra mishap, Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma has sought investigation and publishment of the culprits in the administration who failed to provide security and make arrangements to avoid such accidents.
The opposition leader also demanded Rs. 20 lakhs of compensation to each victim who died and Rs. 10 lakhs for the injured families.
“If the Rath could go on 1st day, why could not it return safely today ? There must be some negligence”, said Animesh Debbarma.
At least 6 people have died and 6 are critical due to the unexpected tragedy which occurred after electric wire had fallen upon the Rath chariot.
CM Manik Saha has left for Kumarghat after hearing this news.
