Badal De (60) died due to lightning in paddy field in Golaghati area under Takarjala police station.

Meanwhile, Pabitra Das of Bishalgarh East Lakshmibil, Kulsoom Bibi of Arabindnagar, Chandan Debnath of Champamura, Sumitra Sarkar Bhowmik of Kadamtali and a pregnant woman named Basanti Saha of Jangalia were also seriously injured by lightning.

They have been referred to GB from Bishalgarh Hospital.

SDM Binay Bhushan Das rushed to the hospital after receiving the information.

The family of the deceased was given financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 at the hospital.
