Forward Bloc observes Netaji’s 118th birth anniversary

Agartala, January 23 (TIWN): Patriotic enthusiasm of Forward Bloc state committee marked the observance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 118th birth anniversary across Tripura followed by various programmes here today.

As part of the countrywide programme, the main observance by the Forward Block took place at the Forward Bloc’s central committee office in Surya Chowmohani in presence of a vast number of people.

At the beginning, the Forward Bloc leaders including Brajagopal Roy and Shyamal Roy hosted the National Flag and party’s flag respectively while many other party leaders and workers were present in the ceremony.

Later, all the leaders and workers staged a march and traversing the city roads gathered in front of Netaji’s statue at Maharajganj market. The leaders paid tribute to the Netaji statue with full dignity.

In the evening, a seminar on Nitaji’s biography, cultural function and award distribution ceremony will be organized at Surya Chowmohani. The winning participants of sit and draw competition, which was conducted on January 18 to mark Netaji’s birthday will be awarded in the ceremony at Surya Chowmohani.  

Addressing the gathering, president of Forward Bloc state committee- Shyamal Roy said, “The entire country is observing Netaji’s birth anniversary today but we do not know when and how he died and the people of the country remained unable to know the reasons for the Netaji’s ‘disappearance’ till date.”

As a sequence, Forward Bloc demands to make nearly 41 classified files on the mysterious disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and related matters public, said Roy.
