Tripura Farm Workers’ Union submits deputation

Agartala, January 23 (TIWN): A 10-member delegation of Tripura Farm Workers’ Union affiliated by Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) state committee submitted deputation and placed a memorandum to the Director of Agriculture Department today.

In the memorandum, the delegates mentioned 5-point charter of demands to the Agriculture Director and urged to take proper initiative for the fulfillment of demands of the workers engaged under agriculture department, said general secretary of Tripura Firm Workers’ Union- Kanu Ghosh.
 
The main demands of the union are; to regularize all the PL workers engaged under agriculture department and to introduce pay scale, a family member must be appointed in the same place in case of die-in-harness, to release pension to the workers in the state in an equal average, to recruit own staffs in all the Agriculture Colleges and to appoint new workers in the vacant posts of retired workers immediately, said Ghosh.
 
After studying the demands, the Director of Agriculture Department admitted the logicality of demands and assured them to take proper initiative within short period, added Ghosh.
 
Besides, Jawaharlal Debnath, Manindra Tripura, Priyolal Debnath, Debendra Debbarma, Dilip Sarkar, Sunil Lodh, Subhash Sarkar, Bijoy Debbarma and Sukhen Chandra Das of Tripura Firm Workers’ Union also participated in the deputation.
