AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): Based on secret sources information, Forest department officials of Charilam chased a running vehicle at Nabo Shantiganj area in Jampuijala on Wednesday morning around 7:30 a.m. and seized Wood logs along with a vehicle worth Rs 11 lakh.

On Wednesday morning, Charilam Forest Department official Sukanta Das received information that a numberless Tata company vehicle would smuggle wooden logs illegally. Based on this information Charilam forest department official under the leadership of Sukanta Das chased behind a Tata company vehicle. But when the forest bandits saw the forest department personnel, tried to flee with the vehicle and after traveling for about 10 km, the vehicle lost control and fell into a drain. The driver of the car ran away from the spot.

Later, forest department officer Sushant Das along with other forest personnel lifted the car from the train with a crane and brought it to Charlam forest department office.

Forest Department Officer Sushant Das said that the Tata company’s vehicle’s estimated price would be around Rs Lakh and the seized wooden logs would be Rs 1 lakh.
