Apart from the jail terms Biswajit is to pay Rs 50000/- and penalty and Sankar Mandal Rs 5000/-. It is to be mentioned here that on 2nd February 2014 the housewife of Mura Para village was brutally raped by her brother-in-law Biswajit Bhowmik .

Interestingly her husband Sankar Mandal was the mastermind behind this crime. Sankar encouraged Biswajit to rape her and kill her and accordingly Biswajit forcibly took the housewife to a near by jungle and brutally raped her for more than three hours and even caused severe damage to her private parts.

And when the housewife became unconscious , both Biswajit and Sankar thought that she was killed and left the place leaving her inside the jungle. Somehow at dawn the housewife revived her sense and went to a neighbour's house having no clothes on her body . In critical condition the the neighbour's took her to hospital. On 3rd February police went to the hospital and lodged a case on the basis of the statement of victim, Case No 08/2014 under Section 376/307/326/120(B) of IPC. Police arrested the husband and the main culprit with in a week. On 02/04/2014 IO Jatindra Das(OC Kakraban PS) submitted the charge sheet.

After hearing the statement of 46 witnesses District & Session Judge of Udaipur Ashis Pal gave his verdict on Thursday. However, hearing the judgement the victim began to cry as she and her mother said that husband Sankar is innocent. They are unhappy with the punishment given to the husband and may knock the door of higher court challenging the order.
