AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Election Dept has put a ban on alcohol sales on 2nd March announcing it a ‘Dry Day’. As Election Dept bans Alcohol in Tripura on Election Result Day, Police Busted Illegal Liquor Stores.
SDPO Ajay Kumar Das said, it was done keeping the law and order issue ahead.
1 person was arrested and many escaped from the spot during the raid.
The decision was taken to stop violence or any unwanted incident on that day.
Tripura Election was held on 16th February. On 15th and 16th February also, alcohol was banned in state.
Election Dept has appealed for peace and urged the people to stay refrain from any violence incidents after the poll results.
