Agartala, January 19 (TIWN): Tripura Governor PB Acharya is scheduled to inaugurate the opening ceremony of the observance of five-day long Statehood Day at Umakanta Academy ground on January 21. Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty would preside over the programme.
Statehood Day would be observed across the state throughout various programmes. To mark the Statehood Day, the inaugural ceremony and an exhibition titled “Tripurar Path Chola” will also be staged at UK Academy ground from January 21 to 25, respectively.
During the inaugural ceremony, two books- Governors speak on the floor of legislative Assembly (1972-2013), Tripura chief minister at national forum (1999-2013) will be released.
Chief Executive Member of Tripura Tribal Autonomous Areas District Council (TTAADC)- Dr. Ranjit Debbarma and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC)- Dr. Prafullajit Sinha would grace the dais as guests of honour while Chief Secretary K Kameshwar Rao, MLA Ashis Saha and MLA Ratan Das would attend the ceremony as special guests.
During the observance of Statehood Day, seminars on different subjects will be organized everyday at 4 pm in UK Academy ground. In a seminar, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty, Power and Urban Development Minister- Manik dey, Rural Development Minister- Naresh Jamatia and Professor Mihir Deb would participate on January 22.
In another seminar, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister- Bhanulal Saha, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty would participate on January 23 while Agriculture Minister Aghore Debbarma, MP Jitendra Choudhury and Examination Comptroller of Tripura (Central) University- Bhupal Sinha would participate in a seminar on January 24.
On the closing ceremony of Statehood Day, Health and PWD Minister Badal chowdhury, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sahid Chowdhury and eminent journalist Satyabrata Chakraborty would attend a seminar. Besides, a cultural function will be staged every evening during the observance of Statehood Day.
