Agartala, January 19 (TIWN): State gears up to celebrate 118th birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose along with the whole country. Like every year, the main function will be held at Netaji Subhas Vidya Niketan. Every year, the school celebrates the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on 23 January in a grand manner. The students take part in a three-hour-long colourful procession that marches through the main streets of Agartala. Education Minister, Tapan Chakraborty will likely to inaugurate the function. After that a procession will start from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan and the rally moves over the city.
With that final touch to clean the image of Netaji is almost done. Near about 4-5 workers near Netaji Chowhumani are busy in giving the image of Netaji fully cleaned.
In the meantime, security had been beefed up ahead of Netaji’s birthday. Strength of the security forces deployed before the vital installations like Civil Secretariat, state Assembly, Rajbhaban and all the major areas from where procession will pass was strengthened. Regular check-up of vehicles entering into the capital town is on and dog squads have been pressed into service to unearth any hidden bomb.
Despite that, to mark the birth anniversary of Netaji, “Netaji Mela” is organized at Melaghar Kalibari field.
The fair will continue for five days. Besides the fair, “Book fair is also going to start at Melaghar. For this, cultural competition, function, quiz, flower exhibition is also organized. A preparatory committee was set up to organize the functions successfully.
