AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): When worshipping needs publicity and media attention, ofcourse it is to show-off and ahead of nomination submission, entering Royal Durga temple with party workers, forcing the priest to garland BJP’s CM candidate Manik Saha, which is a total violation of the ethics of the temple--- is nothing but media publicity.
It is said that in front of God all are equal but seems BJP CM candidate is 'more equal' than other devotees of the state.
Along with CM Saha, Assam incumbent CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was present who is infamous in Tripura for his 2018’s fake promises to 10323 teachers and publishing ‘Vision Document’.
This is not first time that BJP has introduced new culture to Tripura temples but for Amit Shah’s visit, Udaipur Tripura Sundari temple’s daily routine work had to stop. Recently Royal scion, Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Manikya criticized BJP Govt for destroying “Kurma Peeth” of Matabari in the name of beautification which was done without consulting the Royal family.
Tripura Assembly poll is to be held on February 16 and the result will be declared on March 2nd.
CM’s constituency is Bordowali and he will be contesting against former BJP MLA Asish Saha who had resigned from BJP on February, 2022 and joined Congress. After that bypoll was held and heavy rigging was witnessed labelling CM Manik Saha as a ‘Chappa CM’.
Now, in the Assembly poll, Manik Saha has to prove his authenticity if free and fair poll can be held by the Election Commission.
