AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Human Rights activist, Tripura High Court senior Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman during his nomination submission processing as an Independent candidate said that he is receiving very positive responses from the people in his Ramnagar constitution.
The Ramnagar-7 candidate was asked what are issues he would like to take to people. He replied, people ultimately want peace and so that main target behind unvote the incumbent Govt would be to restore the democracy, freedom of speech and establish the ‘Rule of Law’.
Puruhottom Roy Barman’s contestant in BJP is Surajit Datta, who is sitting MLA and infamous as a ‘Border-Hafta’ collector. During college life, Surajit Datta allegedly lost his hand while making bomb. In last bypoll poll, complaint was raised against Surajit Datta for using violent words against opposition and using abusing language in loudspeaker against the public during rallies.
Now the two candidates who are poles apart in their character has turned the poll very interesting and crucial in Ramnagar.
