AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Central Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Tatu Rane has criticized Tripura administration comparing is responsible for low per capita income. Addressing Regional Workshop on “Sustainable Development of MSMEs in NER” at Pragya Bhawan, Agartala, Narayan Rane said, “Northeast states must be developed fully. I want to ask, whether Central Govt schemes are benefitting the people or not. Whether people are getting 100% benefits out of them ? 100% expenditure can’t be the parameter of administrative work, but how far public have received the benefit it’s important to know”.
“Population of Tripura is 36 lakhs. Tripura’s main productions are gas, bamboo, tea etc. But our per capita income is 1.25 lakhs. It’s not the best outcome. In this Northeast zone, Sikkim people earns 4.25 lakhs. If they can do it, why can’t we do ? Sikkim increased GDP but why can’t Tripura? Why has Tourism not developed, when it has so much potentiality”, said Tatu.
“Tourism can give the fastest development. Just look at Goa where only 15 lakhs people but their earning is 4.5 lakhs. Govt alone can’t develop everything without the help of the people and administration. So make sure public are benefitted so that all can work together. India’s position should have been in No-3 at least after America and China”, said Tatu.
