AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): A BJP worker named Tapas Roy was severely beaten up by BJP Councilor’s husband Sujit Roy for not paying a Commission of Rs. 5,000 for Pradhan Mantri Abash Yojona (PMAY) house. Tapas Roy was critically injured and hospitalized. A video has been viral where Tapas was left unconscious when his family members were screaming. This is not the first such allegation brought against the party but similar allegations were brought many times. Infact it is now an open secret that to get a PMAY house, beneficiaries have to pay a hefty commission.
Talking to media injured Tapas Roy’s brother said that they are in BJP party for a long time. After BJP Govt came to power, a house was sanctioned for them but Sujit Roy, who is husband of councilor Sathi Roy sought Rs. 5,000 from him and it created arguments often. On Sunday, centering this illegal demand for Rs. 5,000, Sujit Roy along with three more had beaten up Tapas Roy.
Tapas Roy’s condition is critical.
