AGARTALA, Dec 30 (TIWN): Students of Mati Nagar school in Boxonagar complained that they are forced to take junior classes due to teachers' shortages. The students also complained about insect-full rice which are provided to them during Mid-Day-Meal period. Amid teachers’ crisis, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath continues to hype about over 6000 recruitment of teachers, whereas in reality with 10323 teachers’ termination and retirements, massive backlogs were created and if compared with the backlogs recruitment infact remains at zero which has created massive teachers’ crisis in schools, although BJP Govt already shutdown over thousands of schools. TET Qualified, STGT candidates are waiting for recruitments as over thousands of qualified job aspirants are sitting jobless.

STGT candidates were assured by Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman to be recruited before the Election and he assured that soon he will sit with the Chief Minister about their issue. However, no update regarding that was given so far.

STGT job aspirants on Tuesday met Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath but they returned despair as he clearly stated that he has no approval from the Finance Dept to recruit more than 250 teachers. Talking to a job aspirant, she said, “Till now we’re told that due to the legal case, there is a problem in our recruitment but today when the case was quashed, now the Education Minister is talking about Fund Crisis”.

“Education Minister has asked us to meet the Finance Minister and if he permits, then he (Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath) will think about the matter. We are today really sad after listening to the Minister”, said STGT job aspirant.

STGT Job Aspirants demanded all the qualified teachers should be recruited at a time. Although initially Tripura Govt said that their demands will be fulfilled and all the candidates will be recruited at a time but right now, there is no hope left to them as “Fund Crisis” has emerged as another issue.

At first the job aspirants met Education Minister but he sent them back empty handed saying, he has not received any approval from the Finance Dept about recruitment. Then the job aspirants rushed to Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman’s home.

Jishnu Debbarman talked to the job aspirants personally and understood the matter. The job aspirants requested the Deputy CM to save them and recruit them before the election.

Finally, the Deputy CM assured the job aspirants that their request will be reviewed and that he will sit with Chief Minister and also talk to Education Minister about recruitment.

Now it’s to be seen whether they will get recruitment or not before the 2023 Election or not.
