AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN) : Increasing illegal smuggling of Contraband items and Tripura Police at one point fails to control the illegal smuggling.

Despite managing the Tripura police in return for huge sums, the Assam police are very active in the Cannabis busting case. Assam Police managed to seize a total of 23 kgs of Cannabis in 35 small packets from the bag of 6 passengers sitting on a night bus from Tripura to Guwahati last night.

However, although the amount of Cannabis is less, the women of Bihar are smuggling Cannabis. Some Cannabis was wrapped in their own clothes and some were carried in their luggage. But the arrested women said they knew nothing about cannabis.

The detained smugglers said that they were smuggling in-exchange of small amount of money. The six women arrested are Guriya Devi (40), Soni Devi (35), Sita Devi (42), Sunita Devi (48), Ravita Devi (35), and Pinku Devi (30). All detainees are residents of Bihar.
