AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): No improvement of Krishna Nagar Bhagini Nivedita Girls’ hostel yet where college, and university students are residing. The hostel superintendents traditionally remained nasty and now after former hostel superintendent Bijali Bhowmik’s departure, new superintendent Tripti Saha has arrived with family but she turned worse than the previous one. Today, students of Bhagini Nivedita girls’ hostel met Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath at his residence complaining about the misbehavior of the superintendent.
Yesterday a student had fallen sick and she needed to be hospitalized. On that time hostel superintendent was not present. When her husband was complained about the condition, he talked to his wife Tripti Saha over phone and then stated “Nobody can fall sick after night 8 O’Clock”. That remark generated resentment among the students.
The students are also suffering due to unhygienic condition there. Not sufficient amount of water is provided in bathroom, cleanliness is rare and water filters also run out of water.
Tripti Saha a lecturer at Women’s College, is the superintendent of the hostel.
Meals which are of very poor quality and the students are threatened as prisoners if any complaint is raised. Even lights, fans are not working properly but whenever complaint is made, they are advised to fixed these things at their own expense.
This hostel is typically allowed for SC, ST, OBC and Religious minority students who are enrolled in Colleges and Universities.
