AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): STGT candidates on Tuesday were brutally beaten up by Police after they had gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s residence seeking recruitments of all qualified candidates together. Reacting to a media question STGT job aspirants also said that they have no intention to defame the Govt or support the Govt as they one and only demand is “Everyone’s recruitment at a time who are qualified to be teachers”.

The candidates were told by the Education Minister many times that Finance Dept did not approve their files but casting doubt on Ratan Lal Nath’s statement, the job aspirants said today at Agartala Press Club, “We talked to Finance Minister regarding this but we were never told that there is any fund crisis. We were also not prepared for the incident that happened on Monday. We did not violate any rule. We all were highly educated, qualified job aspirants”. The STGT candidates also demanded to know with whose permission the lathi charge was imposed on them.

The press conference was held after over 40 unemployed youths who were agitating seeking jobs were seriously injured in police lathi-charge after they staged a protest in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s home.

The job aspirants asked, whether police officer permitted the police and CRPF to lathi-charge or Education Minister asked them to do.
