‘Extreme Violation of Laws and Rights’ : Jitendra Chowdhury’s remark against Police Brutality on Job Aspirants

AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury along with former Minister Ratan Bhowmik and other CPI-M leaders rushed to the IGM Hospital to meet the injured unemployed youths who were beaten up by Police in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s home. He condemned the incident and said the police action was illegal a and violation of laws.

Jitendra Chowdhury expressed surprises at how police beat up a pregnant lady, kidney patients and others without any provocation when the agitators were standing peacefully after Ratan Lal Nath left his home.

He said, “Women police, Magistrate’s permission must be there before such acts but nothing was followed. Action must be taken against such culprit police officials”.

Jitendra Chowdhury accused Ratan Lal Nath for attempt on running his convoy over the unemployed youths and ordering police to lathi-charge them.

Chowdhury stated, it was Ratan Lal Nath who was claiming that there are huge vacancies and Govt will recruit qualified candidates as soon as they qualify but now by doing all these, the Govt is trying to fool the people just like they did 5 years back.
