AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Various opposition party leaders have visited Sahid Mia’s home, who was brutally killed by BJP workers on November 30. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar condemned the incident and also accused police for its total failure to control the situation, whereas Congress MLA Sudip Barman has also took a dig at the Tripura High Court judges for their unimpressive role.

Sudip Barman said, “In various states, High Courts are taking suo moto cases but here in Tripura a High Court is there but even though many judges of born in the soil they have been failing even to issue a single notice to the Govt over the increasing violence in state”. 

Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar visited slain party worker Sahid Mia’s home in Charilam. Sarkar expressed shocks over police’s role alleging that the entire incident took place before the Police.

“The situation is now totally out of control. BJP has crossed its all limts”, said Sarkar.

Along with the former state Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, sitting Bishalgarh Assembly MLA Bhanu Lal Saha, Sonamura MLA Sahid Chowdhury, Rajnagar MLA Sudhan Das, Khowai Assembly MLA Nirmal Biswas were also present.

Sahid Mia (65) was brutally murdered by BJP workers in Charilam on 30th November during a clash which erupted after BJP organized unprovoked attack at CPI-M’s rally.

On 30th November during CPI-M’s peaceful rally in presence of police, BJP workers started stone pelting, raising slogans which left many CPI-M workers injured and police just kept standing like puppets as the higher ranked police officer was not permitting the police force to take action.

After many CPI-M workers were injured in BJP’s attack and police were unable to take action against BJP goons, CPI-M countered and after that BJP started bombing which generated a terror-situation there. The entire incident took placed in front of Police.

Then BJP had thrown bombs which left many CPI-M workers injured further.  BJP workers were also injured in the clash. Police officials were also inured in that incident.

During the clash 12 CPI-M workers and 5 BJP members were injured and Sahid Mia, CPI-M leader was killed.

Yesterday, Police did not handover the dead body to the family at GB Hospital which generated protests in front of Police headquarter. Trinamool gheraoed CM house and Congress burnt effigy of Chief Minister Manik Saha.
