AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Brutal murder incident of CPI-M minority group’s leader Sahid Mia who was a farmer by profession has left without a single arrest after 24 hours of passage. After the post-mortem, instead of handing over the dead body to the family, Police on Thursday seized the dead body. As per party’s tradition, CPI-M was to carry the dead body to Melarmath Party Headquarters and pay tribute to the slain leader at GB hospital but with the intention to suppress the issue, Manik Saha led BJP Govt’s dirty role has erupted resentment among the CPI-M members. Also common men have joined the protest today and slammed police for their role.
CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury called police “Backboneless” and “Slave of BJP”.
“Under Jishnu Debbarman’s instruction, in front of police the CPI-M leader was murdered and now the dead body is not being given to his family members after post mortem. This is violation of human rights”, added Jitendra Chowdhury.
