AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): In a joint operation of Tripura Police and Assam Rifles four packets of heroin were recovered. A motorcycle was seized along with it. However, no arrest is reported in this case. The incident took place in Bagbasa area of North Tripura District.

Reportedly, on Monday around 6 pm, on the basis of secret sources information the police of Dharmanagar PS and the Jawans of the 29th Battalion of Assam Rifles joined an anti-narcotics operation. During this operation on the road adjacent to Bagbasa Assam Rifles camp, two youths on a motorcycle were on their way. Noticing the Police team the two youths escaped from the spot leaving their motor vehicle.  

Later, police and Assam Rifles soldiers recovered four packets of heroin by searching the motorcycle. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debashish Saha briefed the incident before the media and also said that the market value of recovered heroin would be approximately Rs 2 lakhs.

The police registered a case and started an investigation.
