AGARTALA, Sep 22 (TIWN): Reportedly, the police of Baikhora PS were on vehicle checking on Lakkhichhara road at around 7:15 PM on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, a bike rider named Doliram Reang hardly hit an on duty Police constable Kamal Hossain when the Police official asked to show the vehicle document. As a result, the constable on duty fell on the road and was seriously injured.

Immediately after the accident, the injured constable was taken to Baikhora Social Health Center for treatment. But the doctor on duty there referred the injured constable to GB Hospital, Agartala. After the accident, the police detained the bike rider along with the bike and took them to Baikhora PS.

Based on this incident, the police of Baikhora police station have registered a case under 279,338/332 IPC Act and 181,184 MV Act against the accused. The accused was sent to Belonia District and Sessions Court today.

Baikhora PS OC Gopal Shukla Das said that the accused deliberately disobeyed the signal and drove the bike at high speed on the constable. It is said that the leg of the on duty official was fractured in this accident and presently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
